May-be a little wet... but it sure is pretty!

May has been an extremely wet month for Utah. I recently returned from Las Vegas and looked around on our drive home and was in awe at Utah's beauty. Even more so with all this rain... Everything is so green! I thought to myself what a blessing it is to live in such a beautiful place.

Still, regardless of rain or shine, this month has been yet another full of "to did(s)."
I decided to become a REAL lesbian and join a softball team. ha Funny inside jokes to all my straighties. If you don't know, now you know. Most softball players are lesbians. <-- that's a joke of course.... ish. ;)

We spent a day in PC enjoying the wilderness, attended a bachelorette party for two of my favorite people, purchased some new enlightening books (and art), fed the tiniest cat I have ever seen, celebrated Mother's Day with my little, attended the wedding of those two same favorite people (Man was that fun!), celebrated Miss Fower's day of birth, went to Viva with all the ladies - one of the best girls trips yet, saw Lindsey Stirling at Red butte, attended the Wild Woman's Symposium, welcomed another year with Ms. Young and company and said Aloha to the Moffit Twins in the city of the salt before they left for Greece.

But I have to say, the most memorable part of this month was the email I received from Miah's teacher re her character. It made me extremely proud of her to know that she is projecting such an image of herself that is unforgettable. He told me students often become nameless figures throughout the years but for Miah he would remember her for a life-time. He complemented her on her hard work striving for success and he said he hopes that one day she will return to speak to his class to tell her story. He then said people like Miah make this world a great place to live and be a part of. *Tear*

How amazing that my little 11 year old has that affect. I know she does on me, but of course I always assume I am bias. I also think it is so remarkable that a teacher would take his time to say such kind things about the way my child has made an influence on this school year. He was hands down one of my favorite teachers. He took the time to let the kids be kids, but also taught them many valuable lessons to take into adolescents (Let's not forget Miah's NIs).

I can't believe she is growing up so fast, already starting 7th grade. I am thankful that she is smart and has one of the BEST support systems to assist her in this journey. It looks like she is off to a good start.

We influence our children more than we know; with every look, action and word. I hope that parents, teachers, etc. truly realize the impact they have on these innocent leaders of our world. Let us teach them love and strength, not hate nor fear.
