Little and big proud(s)...

And it begins... or ends, depending on how you choose to look at it.

Miah is officially a "middle schooler." She had her last day of sixth grade June 5th; going out with a Luau bang!

All the 6th graders had their last dance - literally - and I was lucky enough to participate in the festivities.  Just like her Valentines Day dance it was so cute seeing all the littles do their dances - many of them shy as can be.

Miah was lucky enough to build a great relationship with her teacher, Mr. Lee. So much that she wanted to do something special for him so she made him a Coca-Cola cake. Apparently he's a Coke fanatic! Teachers like him really deserve so much. He taught the children to be themselves, know they are different with different gifts and abilities, and pushed them to know their potential.

Watching her blossom is both amazing and disheartening at the same time. I am so proud of the young lady she has/is becoming but I am also very sad that my baby girl is not really a baby anymore.
Those chubby cheeks, and the cutest mullet known to mankind, will forever be in my memories.

Miah is very nervous about the 7th grade, which I don't blame her. I remember that transition and it can be very frightening.... But, I know she will love it and do just fine.

Next on the agenda for June was PRIDE. Not going to lie, the anxiousness of PRIDE is still inside of me due to the many changes in my life - it almost feels unfamiliar.

Nonetheless, it's always great seeing people I haven't seen in a long while, celebrating the beautiful notion that LOVE IS LOVE. Miah joined us this year for a bit - first timer - and I think she enjoyed the celebrations, mainly the parade. :)

One more very important event took place related to equality.... June 26th The Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in all 50 states! Regardless of how others feel, it makes my heart happy our Gov't is on the creating equal opportunities for love.

Last but not least, I ended the month with attending my next IMPACT training. Again, it was quite the experience. I had the opportunity to meet many beautiful souls, claim my power, and see who it is I am.

Many times in life we get lost, we're on a rollercoaster and sometimes let fear control us. My experiences lately have been both enlightening and terrifying at the same time. We tend to find out our mess becomes our message and without the dark, we would not know light.

Until the dust settles, we gotta just keep on keepin on. Afterall, we all deserve the light, love, and life we want, right?
