Is It Just Me, Or....

Is it just me or is there something in the air this month? The energy has been real funky all around me and I think it's finally caught up to me.
It seems like all the crazies have been out, of course myself included.

I don't know what it is about this time of year, but this same time last year there seemed to be similar "issues" happening in relationships. I'm not talking romantic relationships, specifically, I'm just saying relationships in general.

Is there something that happens cosmically that has the same affect on us, here on earth, year after year?
I really wonder... because now that I am blogging, I notice the trend.

I'm currently going through an ordeal with someone I once was very close to. I pride myself on being kind, loving, truthful (even when it hurts), taking the high road, etc. but then face these types of challenges. I guess they appear for a purpose. To teach us something, or nah? Yeah, I think so.

I notice patience is something that keeps coming up in my life... Haven't quite got that one down yet. (oops)

I've also found that I need to keep my big mouth shut more times than not... Mind my own business and be thoughtful of what others might be experiencing in their story. Even if people ask for my opinion, sometimes I need to allow them to look at their situation on their own.
Like Miguel Ruiz says, we are all living in our own virtual reality and even if whatever it is we perceive, feel, and so on, isn't reality; it's reality for us. Life really is all about perspective.

My perspective on this situation is I'm excited for this to be finished. I can't deal with the ugliness for much longer, it breaks my heart seeing things pan out this way, but I'm learning sometimes it's necessary.

Now if I could just put down the OCDness with control. (weird) I'm practicing letting go of resistance, allowing myself to just be, but I must say it's been a toughie. I've found that when I stop defying experiences, everything always turn out just fine.

For those of you who don't know this, I'm a "fixer." I get shit done, handled, taken care of. So when it doesn't happen in my timing, it's a struggle for me. I'm sure that is my lesson in all of this, too - at least one of 'em.

Life is beautiful and I am still, even in the middle of the mess, thankful. This month has been a beautiful disaster.

Soccer started... Miah plays all year, but I'm talking about our good 'ol boys, REAL. We went to their first game and had a great time, minus a few set backs.

We saw the Jazz play, but squish was more excited about Hawaii than anything.

I went to Parent Teacher Conference, and as many if you know, (proud parent moment 14,895) Squish's teacher said she is one of the top five students in the class. He also recommended she apply for the STEM program. So proud of her!
She did; however, get three NIs... and believe me, she paid for it! (Thus, my beautiful scribble picture below - yes she knows how to color in the lines) Hopefully she's taken me seriously. (Love you Baby Girl)

We made a trip to our beautiful mountains for a winter, felt like summer, hike. And i was a snoopy Mom... will continue to be, too! Then finally, we ended up in Hawaii... (lol I act like it wasn't planned for months on months)

Oh Maui... we visited my good friends Heather and Heidi Moffit. If you are ever in need of some genuine folk in your life, they're it! They let five of us invade their home for nine days and they showed us many wonders of Hawaii.

We went to the beach and saw/swam with these cute turtles almost everyday. We snorkeled, paddle boarded (damn, I didn't think surfing would be easier than paddle boarding), watched some whale tails (that was amazing! Saw three whales breach), went to Lahina, snuck onto this private property on the beach (just the back yard, guys... watched the sunset, used their outlets and their patio furniture - no biggy, right?), celebrated St. Patrick's day, went to a Luau, watched the sun rise at the top of the volcano (woah),  learned how to surf (so much fun!). We did the road to Hana, visited the Black Sand beaches, and played beach volley ball. Well, I watched. ha

It seriously was such a great vacation! Of course, there, too... were setbacks, but I guess it really isn't a vaca without some sort of set back, right?

Thank you Heather and Heidi for hosting and spending much needed QT with us. Baby girl said it was THE BEST vacation she's ever been on (way to go, MOM!) Thank you all for helping with Miah and making this trip amazing for her.

Of course, it wouldn't be any month without a birthday! We celebrated Court's 31st bday and played life-size Hungry Hungry Hippo. Man was that a mess... also, so much fun!

Finally, I ended the month with Ms. Anjelah Johnson. Man is she amazing. "Crystol gel fo yo nail?"

On top of all of that, my Kitchen was undergoing a remodel. I had my Living room, Miah's room and the kitchen repainted. Came back from Hawaii and decided, "lets' do the cabinets and table, too!" (I'm telling you, traveling is great but I didn't realize how stressful it could be, too!)

Needless to say, I'm still alive and the kitchen looks UH-MA-ZING! I have to thank everyone who assisted with this remodel - it seriously was SO MUCH WORK! Kels did most of it (thank you, Miss Fowers), but Kim, Alyse and Annalise also helped, so thank you friends.

I must admit, I am spoiled. Amongst the disaster's/setbacks in everyday life, Miah and I, truly have an amazing support system.

Happy March, ya'll .
