I thought I would take some time out to write this post to you/about you. The other day we were looking at your baby book and I wrote in your 1st year journal. My hopes for this Blog, those photobooks and that journal is so you can look back at how amazing your life has been. There is so much about my childhood I don’t remember and with technology these days, there is no reason why your generation shouldn’t have the most home videos, pics and all that jazz.
As you know, you are now in High School (Pinch me!) and you are having the most fun! Soccer season just ended. There were lots of laughs and lots of tears. Some good games and bad games. Injuries and barrel rolls. But lots and lots of fun.
I have seen you grow into a young lady, what feels like, over-night. I am seriously in such awe of you. (Doting hard!) People ask me what is my favorite age and I must admit they just keep getting better. Though it’s heavy on my heart that I will never get to hold that little chubby, Mullet havin’, eye rollin’, baby Miah again, I get to watch you GLO up! (Thanks for keeping me up with the lingo, Ash ha)
Where you are now I can remember those days in my life. Figuring out my feelings, who I am, where I stand, who is beside me and creating this blueprint for my life that, unfortunately, doesn't always work out as planned.
Thank the heavens above you are a much better kid than I was. Nana always told me you would be my payback—I’ll take it!! (Sorry Ma 😉)

This weekend was probably one of the most emotional time I’ve ever seen you have. Like grown-up emotions. We went and got ice cream, chilled on Ash’s porch swing and just laughed. I’m thankful when I say I’m sorry you don’t hold a grudge and that you have the sweetest heart, even when you act like a brat!
The world you are growing up in is much different from the one I did. It’s scarier, but not. Watching you and your friends I am so proud of what good kids you are. Emmah, Bev, KT, Mia, Ashantee, Brin, Sammy.... We haven’t really gotten to know your other friends on the soccer team as well, but what we see we are in adornment.
You are completely girl crazy! Ha So you think. I am so thankful you are growing up in a much more loving and accepting teenage-hood than I did. I keep telling you you're too young to “know,” but maybe not -you are still crazy about the mulatto boys, too! All I know is whatever you are, be a good one.

You are so loved by many, never forget that. Life will get nuts, sometimes feeling like you are on a rollercoaster. Just hang on, the worse ALWAYS get better! Live your fullest, loveliest and kindest life. And never regret. Hard times build amazing character.
Thank you for picking me as your Mama and NEVER forget to smile, you never know who is watching.
Love you,
Xo - Mom
