THEY MAAAAADE IT..... to finals that is!
Miah made it to the finals for her very first time. Sparta played in the Murray Max and almost had it! Unfortunately, her game before got rained out so the girls had to go on a day break (messing with their momentum), but still, they showed up. The score was 0 to 0, literally, until the last 47 seconds of the game. The other team scored on us and we took 2nd. *EFF*
Miah was pretty bummed but she was a good sport and was thankful they at least made it to the finals. The coach took them all to a REAL game after for all their hard work.
In addition, the coach surprised the girls with a private practice with REAL's defender Abdoulie Mansally. Miah was star struck and had him sign everything: bag, cleats, ball, etc., it was cute.
Speaking of cute, or frightening, TWELVE years old... what the?! Can you believe it? I can't believe it (know how I know I'm getting old, <-- that's how.)
I can't accept she is already 12 and going into junior high. They say time flies when you have kids and they weren't shittin'!
It's been amazing watching this little grow into a big little. She has turned out quite alright (even though as a parent I'm pretty sure I'm messin' up somewhere). She really is kind, smart, beautiful, and has the most tender heart ever - even behind all of her Sassy McSasserson.
I'm excited to continue on this journey of motherhood strapped in with chain link, seat belts, pad locks and tie downs. I know I'm going to need them entering the teenage years... can't wait! (Lord help me.)
It's a tradition of ours to go down to Lava Hot Springs for Squish's birthday, so that's what we did. I don't know what it is about Lava - usually I get sick of places if I go over and over - but Lava seems to be the same, yet different every year. We seemed to have created quite a following, too. I asked her if she'd like to stay home this year and she said "no way....." Even though she is scared for her life - and swears she will die a grueling death - tubing down the river (thanks Provo near death experience)!
7th Grade... eeek! Miah has been nervous all summer waiting for this day. I'm happy to report it went exceptionally well. I dropped her off and she was looking everywhere for her friends. You know how that is when you're starting 7th grade, God forbid you enter alone! Luckily the first day was 7th graders only. The school acclimated them to their classes, lockers, etc. So the next day she was ready. She said it was cool and she loved having 7 classes. It was like she was a little older the next day, Miss Independent. Oh the good ol' days!
We also did some other fun things this month. We went to the Bluffdale rodeo, the horse races, Park City and Brandie Carlisle (lezbos) for Twinner's bday, on some nature walks and dared to embark on the Provo once again! Be surprised we survived, well some of us did (Alycia!).
It's been an ok summer... call me crazy but I'm am excited for fall to come. Sweater, snuggles, scarfs and beauty everywhere? Yeah!!
