Twenty Fifteen

Wow... onto another year we are.

Every New Year I'm reminded how quickly time flies. I remember 1999 like it was yesterday. The Y2k scare and how EVERYONE thought ish was about to go down! ha So silly.

I contemplated New Years resolutions this year. It seems like a great time to set some goals, intentions if you will, reflect on all of the things I'd like to accomplish come years end.. but this year I decided to pick juuuust one... keep it simple. 1) Just BE.

This year I am going to honor the past (despite some of the trials - literally ha - I still face with it) and focus on the present. Absolutely am I excited for the future, but instead of living in it - like I have in the past - this year, I'm going to live in the right here, right now.

I'm so blessed and thankful for where my life has turned, and is headed, and I want to soak up every second of it!

There are many things in life we can't control, but our perspective is 100% up to us.

It's already been an extremely busy year. I look back and wonder "how in the hell do baby girl and I have all this time to fit it all in?!" I guess all that makes sense is... we work hard, but play harder!

New Years Eve was spent in Lava with some great friends. There's this new thing that Ms. Thomas has blessed upon us: The Bucket List. We had one we had to complete for New Years in Lava, and let me tell you whhhhat... it made everything that much more fun! Plus, it's a way for the homies back home to feel like we're all together! We even had complete strangers wanting to participate "What's the bucket list?"

So I guess now, every vaca consists of one - I've had three since. (Pics below)

Shortly after NYE we attended a fundraising party for The Hawkes'. It's beautiful to see how many people get together to give back and support the ones they love.

Mid month My sister and I spent some time with our adopted sister, Daisy, in Austin. Man is that an AMAZING city! If I can convince Miah to move one day, that is where we will head. It was great catching up, sleeping in, and letting loose.

After Austin was Sundance. Gabriel's and my tradition. I LOVE it! Every year seems to get mo and mo betta. The city turns into a little tourist town, we meet people from all over the world and best of all we get to see some really great films (this year the cake must go to 'Pop Up Porno'). Lol
This was also the first year that I saw celebrities! Kinda cool, I guess.

In between all this Squish and I fit in pics... (thank you Twinner), the Mystery Room (Hot Mess Express), Bunco with the beezy's, my first snow shoeing extravaganza, welcoming newbies (congrats Jill and Breesha) and all Miah's Soccer jazz. I took her to see Selma, too and she was so touched by it, it was the cutest thing ever!

Finally we ended the month in Seattle. Went to see that sexy S.O.B, Sam Smith. #FAIL
Come the day of the concert, Mr. Smith came down with the laryngitis and needed a cold pop, so we never got to see him perform :(
(No clue about the laryngitis, but he did lose his voice.)

To top it off, Seahawks didn't show up for the Super bowl and never have I ever been in such a somber room/city after a fail like that. #FailTimesTwo

Turns out our tickets are still good, but we'll have to see what flights look like come whenever he reschedules (date still TBD).

All-in-all, the trip was a success! First time to Seattle and it, too, was a blast!

Thank you Jaba and Ariane for letting us crash your five year (ish) anniversary, thank you Jenn for the memories, and thank you AnnaP29 for being such a great hostess - "legitimately!"
